You need to use HttpWebRequest rather than WebClient as you can't set the timeout on WebClient without extending it (even though it uses the HttpWebRequest). Using the HttpWebRequest instead will allow you to set the timeout.

I'd recommend first performing a HEAD HTTP request and examining the Content-Length header value returned to determine the number of bytes in the file you're downloading and then setting the timeout value accordingly for subsequent GET request or simply specifying a very long timeout value that you would never expect to exceed.
As you can see by looking at the code below and comparing it with the accepted answer, I tried to tweak the suggestion a little bit more in order to have a more versatile class: this way you can set a precise timeout either upon instancing the object or right before using a method that uses the internal WebRequest handler.
You can organize your pipeline into jobs. Every pipeline has at least one job. A job is a series of steps that run sequentially as a unit.In other words, a job is the smallest unit of work that can be scheduled to run.

You can organize your build or release pipeline into jobs. Every pipeline has at least one job. A job is a series of steps that run sequentially as a unit.In other words, a job is the smallest unit of work that can be scheduled to run.
Tasks in a server job are orchestrated by and executed on the server (Azure Pipelines or TFS). A server job does not require an agent or any target computers. Only a few tasks are supported in a server job at present. The maximum time for a server job is 30 days.
The server job contains a Manual Intervention taskthat runs on the Azure Pipelines or TFS.The job does not execute on, or require, an agent or any target servers. The Manual Intervention task displays its message and waits for a"resume" or "reject" response from the user. In this example, ifthe configured timeout is reached, the task willautomatically reject the deployment (set the timeout in the control options section to zero ifyou do not want an automated response to be generated).
To avoid taking up resources when your job is unresponsive or waiting too long, it's a good idea to set a limit on how long your job is allowed to run. Use the job timeout setting to specify the limit in minutes for running the job. Setting the value to zero means that the job can run:
The cancelTimeoutInMinutes allows a limit to be set for the job cancel time when the deployment task is set to keep running if a previous task has failed. When not specified, the default is 5 minutes. The value should be in range from 1 to 35790 minutes.
On the Options tab, you can specify default values for all jobs in the pipeline. If you specify a non-zero value for the job timeout, then it overrides any value that is specified in the pipeline options. If you specify a zero value, then the timeout value from the pipeline options is used. If the pipeline value is also set to zero, then there is no timeout.
The matrix strategy enables a job to be dispatched multiple times, with different variable sets. The maxParallel tag restricts the amount of parallelism. The following job will be dispatched three times with the values of Location and Browser set as specified. However, only two jobs will run at the same time.
matrix will accept a runtime expression containing a stringified JSON object. That JSON object, when expanded, must match the matrixing syntax. In the example below, we've hard-coded the JSON string, but it could be generated by a scripting language or command-line program.
The parallel strategy enables a job to be duplicated many times.Variables System.JobPositionInPhase and System.TotalJobsInPhase are added to each job. The variables can then be used within your scripts to divide work among the jobs.See Parallel and multiple execution using agent jobs.
Specify the multi-agent option on an agent job to leverage slicing. The job is dispatched as many times as the number of agents you specify, and the variables System.JobPositionInPhase and System.TotalJobsInPhase are automatically set in each job.
When you run an agent pool job, it creates a workspace on the agent. The workspace is a directory in which it downloads the source, runs steps, and produces outputs. The workspace directory can be referenced in your job using Pipeline.Workspace variable. Under this, various subdirectories are created:

In a release pipeline, you may choose to skip thedownload of artifactsduring the job execution. Use this option if you want to implementyour own custom logic for downloading artifacts by using tasks, or if the tasks in a particular job do not rely on the artifacts.
Previous to v3.0.0, .only() used string matching to decide which tests to execute; this is no longer the case. In v3.0.0 or newer, .only() can be used multiple times to define a subset of tests to run:
In v3.0.0 or newer, a parameter passed to this.timeout() greater than the maximum delay value will cause the timeout to be disabled. In v8.0.0 or newer, this.enableTimeouts() has been removed. Warning: With async tests if you disable timeouts via this.timeout(0) and then do not call done(), your test will exit silently.
Running tests in parallel mode will naturally use more system resources. The OS may take extra time to schedule and complete some operations, depending on system load. For this reason, the timeouts of individual tests may need to be increased either globally or otherwise.
Multiple root hook plugins can be registered by using --require multiple times. For example, to register the root hooks in hooks-a.js and hooks-b.js, use --require hooks-a.js --require hooks-b.js. These will be registered (and run) in order.
The Dot Matrix reporter is a series of characters which represent test cases. Failures highlight in red exclamation marks (!), pending tests with a blue comma (,), and slow tests as yellow. Good if you prefer minimal output.
Wallaby.js is a continuous testing tool that enables real-time code coverage for Mocha with any assertion library in VS Code, Atom, JetBrains IDEs (IntelliJ IDEA, WebStorm, etc.), Sublime Text and Visual Studio for both browser and node.js projects.
Henry Hamilton: You really don't know, do you? Everyone can't live forever. Where would we put them? Why do you think there are time zones? Why do you think taxes and prices go up the same day in the ghetto? The cost of living keeps rising to make sure people keep dying. How else could there be men with a million years while most live day to day? But the truth is... there's more than enough. No one has to die before their time. If you had as much time as I have on that clock, what would you do with it?
The operating system of the controller automatically generates a fully functional web authentication certificate, so you do not need to do anything in order to use certificates with Layer 3 web authentication. However, if desired, you can prompt the operating system to generate a new web authentication certificate, or you can download an externally generated SSL certificate.
The default values of 10 retries and a 6-second timeout should work correctly without any adjustment. However, you can change these values. To do so, enter the maximum number of times that each download can be attempted for the retries parameter and the amount of time (in seconds) allowed for each download for the timeout parameter.
If you are using a custom web-auth bundle that is served by the internal controller web server, the page should not contain more than 5 elements (including HTML, CSS, and Images). This is because the internal controller web server implements a DoS protection mechanism that limits each client to open a maximum of 5 (five) concurrent TCP connections depending on the load. Some browsers may try to open more than 5 TCP sessions at the same time (For example Firefox 4) if the page contains more elements and this may result in the page loading slowly depending on how the browser handles the DoS protection.
Configuration backups do not include extra files or components, such as the webauth bundle or external licenses, that you download and store on your controller, so you should manually save external backup copies of those files or components.

AWS Lambda lets you run code without provisioning or managing servers. You pay only for the compute time you consume - there is no charge when your code is not running. With Lambda, you can run code for virtually any type of application or backend service - all with zero administration. Just upload your code, and Lambda takes care of everything required to run and scale your code with high availability. You can set up your code to automatically trigger from other AWS services or call it directly from any web or mobile app.
AWS Lambda natively supports Java, Go, PowerShell, Node.js, C#, Python, and Ruby code, and provides a Runtime API which allows you to use any additional programming languages to author your functions. Please read our documentation on using Node.js, Python, Java, Ruby, C#, Go, and PowerShell.
Yes. AWS Lambda allows you to use normal language and operating system features, such as creating additional threads and processes. Resources allocated to the Lambda function, including memory, execution time, disk, and network use, must be shared among all the threads/processes it uses. You can launch processes using any language supported by Amazon Linux.
